Sexy Part of the Bible by Kola Boof
I finished this book in 2 or 3 days (can’t remember exactly when I started it), it’s an epic book. I recommend it to everyone, particularly Blacks. It’s a fiction novel with themes of colorism and assimilation. To give a very watered down synopsis because the book is too complex to summarize in a few words, it’s about an African woman named who is cloned and brought back to life after she is stoned to death for advocating against skin bleaching and whitening. When she is brought back to life as Eternity, a movie is made about the woman she was in her past life, but she is considered to “dark” to play herself and the role instead is given to a light skin biracial actress. The novel is fictional, but uniquely comments on issues dealing with race, society, and relations between black men & black women and white men & white women. It is definitely a must read, it’s mind opening and thought provoking.

**Oh and for anyone who doesn’t know, Kola Boof was captured, enslaved and forced to be the mistress of Osama Bin Laden for a number of years (just an interesting little tid bit about the author)**
